The United States defeated Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday to finish in first place in CONCACAF Group C and advance to the Hexagonal, the final round of 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifying. The U.S., who featured Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris during this latest round of call-ups and Sounders forward Clint Dempsey earlier in the group stage, will open against Group A winner Mexico on Friday, Nov. 11, at MAPFRE Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
Seattle Sounders defenders Joevin Jones (Trinidad and Tobago) and Roman Torres (Panama) have also qualified for the Hex, which is a 10-match home-and-home round-robin to determine CONCACAF’s representatives at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
