One of the new players OL Reign has acquired in this offseason is forward Tziarra King. As a rookie for Utah Royals (now relocated to NWSL Kansas City) last year, King made a dazzling debut in the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup, scoring the game-tying goal in the 89th minute against the Houston Dash. The goal won her Budweiser Woman of the Match honors and her creative, energetic play on the field was only matched by engaging personality, instantly becoming a fan favorite within NWSL circles.
As King and her new teammates begin their journey to the Pacific Northwest and report to training camp in the coming weeks, we had a chat with her about the trade, being a part of the club’s youth movement with the likes of Madison Hammond, while also playing alongside league veterans/Reign Originals in Lauren Barnes, Jess Fishlock, and Megan Rapinoe.
