Clint Dempsey among 26 players called into U.S. national team for World Cup qualifiers

Seattle Sounders forward Clint Dempsey is among the 26 players called into the United States men’s national team for its pair of upcoming World Cup qualifiers, the federation announced Sunday in a release.

The U.S. faces Guatemala in Guatemala City on Friday before squaring off with the same opponent the following Tuesday at Mapfre Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

Sounders rookie Jordan Morris is not on the senior roster release, having been called into the U-23 team for its Olympic qualifying series against Colombia.
