Chad Marshall will be eligible to play the Seattle Sounders’ next match on Sept. 15 against the Vancouver Whitecaps after the Independent Panel overturned the red card he received on Saturday. The panel — which is made up of a member of the USSF, Canadian Soccer Association and someone appointed by PRO — needed to unanimously agree that referee Baldomero Toledo erred in giving the VAR-reviewed red card for “serious foul play.” It was just the second time in his 15-year MLS career that Marshall had been ejected from a match.
After Video Review, a red card is issued to Chad Marshall for serious foul play.
