Amidst the positive emotions that come with Saturday’s road tie were some concerns around center back Chad Marshall’s conspicuous substitution. The center back was removed from the match in the 51st minute and replaced by Tony Alfaro. Marshall took a blow to the head in the first half and seemed to indicate his removal might be related to that.

While the situation was related, Sounders head coach said it shouldn’t be a longterm concern.

"He had a migraine headache," Schmid told reporters. "It wasn’t a concussion, although when he went down he got a slight knee to the head in the first half and he just got a headache where he became really light sensitive.
