The MLS Disciplinary Committee announced on Wednesday that Vancouver Whitecaps striker Blas Pérez has been suspended for one match and issued an undisclosed fine for violent conduct against Seattle Sounders forward Herculez Gomez in the 78th minute of their match on Sunday.
“The committee unanimously ruled that the action was violent conduct and suspended Perez for one match and issued him a fine. Perez will serve his suspension when the Whitecaps play at the San Jose Earthquakes in their penultimate match of the season on Oct. 16.”
Here’s video of the incident, which Perez escaped with only a foul being called.
