It’s been an odd year for Alfonso Ocampo-Chavez. The 17-year-old has had had a hard time settling in anywhere as he’s bounced between various Sounders Academy teams, United States youth national teams, the Tacoma Defiance and even the Seattle Sounders.
Ocampo-Chavez has earned plenty of accolades and scored quite a few goals, which is why the Sounders made him one of the youngest players they’d ever signed earlier this year.
But for all his achievements, Ocampo-Chavez had yet to score a professional goal. That finally changed on Wednesday during the Defiance’s 4-1 romp over the Las Vegas Lights at Cheney Stadium.
