Alejandro Pozuelo beat out Nicolas Lodeiro (third) and Jordan Morris (fourth) to win the 2020 MLS MVP vote. Diego Rossi finished second in voting, actually winning the player block.
While there was some belief that having both Lodeiro and Morris attracting MVP votes could cost one of them the award, in the end it does not seem to have made much difference. The combined vote share of the two Sounders would have left them with about 19% of the total vote, which theoretically could have vaulted one of them into second but still would have fallen considerably short of Pozuelo’s 35.
