Pete Carroll's "Always Compete" mantra is successful in just about facet it needs to be, except for besting Bill Belichick on offseason lists.
In NFL.com's annual coaching power rankings, the Seahawks head man landed in the No. 2 spot behind the coach of the defending Super Bowl champions, positions they've each occupied for three straight years.
Carroll, 65, is entering his eighth year with the Seahawks, with whom he has accumulated an overall record of 70-41-1, including playoff appearances in each of the last five seasons and a championship in 2013.
