NFL owners approved a set of rule changes to point-after-touchdown tries this week in San Francisco at the league-wide owners’ meeting in a 30-2 vote.
Washington and Oakland were the only teams to reject the proposal, which calls for three significant changes:
- On PAT kick attempts, the center will snap the ball from the 15-yard line instead of the 2-yard line.
- Two-point conversion tries will still start from the 2-yard line, but offenses can change their minds and attempt a kick if they take a penalty that results in a retry.
