The NFL has doled out almost $67,000 in fines for three hits in the Seahawks’ 27-17 win over the New York Jets last Sunday that drew unnecessary roughness penalties — two handed to players from New York and one from Seattle.
The two Jets fined were safety Calvin Pryor and offensive lineman Brian Winters, who were each fined $24,309 for hits that were judged as unnecessary roughness and flagged for penalties at the time. Seattle defensive end Cassius Marsh was also fined $18,231 for a hit on New York quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick that also received a flag for unnecessary roughness.
