Each year at the NFL Scouting Combine, teams have the opportunity to get a sense of a player’s athletic traits as they run drills throughout the week. However, maybe even more importantly, they also get a chance to talk to the players in formal interviews as well as informally during the week.
In terms of formal meetings, each team has 45 (which is down from 60 in previous years), but there is no set limit on informal meetings. Tracking the visits can be difficult if a player doesn’t volunteer the information and there are multiple opportunities for teams to visit with prospects at the East-West Shrine Game, Senior Bowl, pro day workouts, local visits, and official visits to the team’s facility (each team gets 30 of these).
