Veteran defensive lineman Tony McDaniel signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks this week, and the contract details confirm that he'll be competing for a roster spot.
McDaniel's deal is worth $985,000 and contains no guaranteed money. It's a minimum-salary benefit deal, meaning the cap hit is only $600,000.
"We’ve always liked Tony, and when we worked him out to see how he’s doing, he had a great workout," Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said. "He’s in terrific shape. He’s very trim and he’s ready to go. He just looked good enough to help us.
