The Seahawks do not have a do or die situation in week 17 against the 49ers. That is unless do or die has to do with winning the NFC West. A division crown would be great, which is what they would get if the defeat San Francisco on Sunday. But the greater goal is to get to the Super Bowl and Seattle has already clinched a playoff spot.
No matter what happens on Sunday, Seattle will likely play a game next weekend. If the Packers lose and the Saints lose (both unlikely as Green Bay plays the 3-11-1 Lions and the Saints play the 5-10 Panthers) and Seattle wins then the Seahawks could, and I swear I am not making this up, be the number-one seed in the NFC.
