The Seattle Seahawks used to have a “type.” Back in the LOB-era, they played with a certain style, and it wasn’t that difficult to see how players would (or wouldn’t in some cases) mesh with the rest of the roster.
Recently, it’s been tougher to nail down exactly who the “true Seahawks” are. Straying from that mentality is likely part of the reason that Pete Carroll was replaced with Mike Macdonald.
Speaking of Macdonald, he comes to Seattle from the Baltimore Ravens – a team that has seemingly been acquiring the same types of players for decades.
