Takeaways from Seahawks training camp 'mock game'

RENTON -- Unlike much of training camp, Monday's "mock game" resembled actual football.

The second half of the Seahawks' eighth camp practice featured a full-team scrimmage in front of hundreds of screaming fans and blaring music at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center. While it didn't exactly feel like a regular-season game -- or even a preseason one for that matter -- it was the first time the 2017 squad matched up against each other in game-like situations.

"This is the first chance to get closer to a game-type situation," head coach Pete Carroll said after the conclusion of the game, which the first-teamers won by a score of 17-3.
