Source: Seahawks release Joey Hunt, plus more moves ahead of roster deadline

Rookie Ethan Pocic’s versatility has cost 2016 draft choice Joey Hunt his place on the Seahawks.

Friday’s big trade for Sheldon Richardson has apparently cost Ahytba Rubin his Seattle job.

A league source informed me Saturday morning, hours before the league deadline for the team to get its 90-man roster down to 53 players, that the Seahawks released Hunt.

Seattle drafted Hunt out of Texas Christian in the sixth round last season. He made one start, Nov. 27 at Tampa Bay when Pro Bowl alternate Justin Britt had an ankle injury. The Seahawks scored five points in that loss.
