Secondary market for Seahawks’ tickets climbs to an average of $466 for a ticket

A company tracking the nation’s resale ticket market like no other has rendered its verdict: Seahawks seats are the priciest in football.

The findings by New York-based TicketIQ — which last week rebranded from its prior TiqIQ name — shouldn’t surprise anybody paying attention to what the Seahawks have done the past two offseasons. When the Seahawks began “recapturing” — i.e. revoking — season tickets from known brokers last year, those aware of how resale markets work were highly suspicious of the team’s claims of trying to help die-hard fans shut out from buying seats.

Indeed, several local brokers predicted the team’s actions would only make it costlier for Seahawks fans to buy tickets on the secondary market.
