[Updated 1:35 p.m.] Wide receiver Kevin Norwood has been traded to the Carolina Panthers for an undisclosed conditional 2017 draft pick after it was initially reported he had been released by the Seattle Seahawks.
The Houston Chronicle’s Aaron Wilson tweeted news of Norwood’s release Monday morning, more than 24 hours before the NFL’s 1 p.m. Tuesday deadline to trim rosters from 90 to 75 players. Hours later, Wilson reported that instead of releasing Norwood outright, Seattle decided to trade him to receiver-needy Carolina.
