Former University of Washington running back Chris Polk is unexpectedly a free agent. Despite not being a position where the they are looking to add talent, the Seattle Seahawks should add Polk and bring him into training camp this year.
Polk was a restricted free agent, and the Eagles game him the minimum qualifying offer of $1.5 million. That gave them the right to match any contract offer from another team, but it also meant that the entire one-year contract would be guaranteed once Polk signed it.
That never happened. The team decided on Friday to withdraw that contract tender, which made Polk an unrestricted free agent.
