The Seattle Seahawks have ruled out the possibility that Kam Chancellor will play in the team’s regular season opener at St. Louis on Sunday.
Speaking to the media during a press conference on Wednesday, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll didn’t mince words when asked about his three-time All-Pro safety.
“He’s not here and so he’s not playing,” Carroll said from the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton. “That’s it. Today’s Wednesday.”
Chancellor has been holding out from the team since the beginning of training camp in July, unhappy with the four-year contract extension worth just over $28 million he signed in 2013.
