Seattle Seahawks’ Cary Williams makes no excuses after being benched vs. San Francisco 49ers

Williams has struggled the past month, and coach Pete Carroll said after the 49ers again got the better of him in the third quarter they decided to give DeShawn Shead a shot at cornerback.

Seahawks cornerback Cary Williams had trouble in coverage Sunday, which led to his benching during the third quarter of a 29-13 victory over the 49ers.

Afterward, he didn’t try to run for cover, instead spending several minutes at his locker patiently answering questions about something he said had never happened to him.

He also offered no excuses, saying he was healthy when the team replaced him with DeShawn Shead.
