During an interview on 950-AM KJR, general manager John Schneider said the Seahawks want to absorb all of Marshawn Lynch's cap hit ($5 million) in 2016. That means placing him on the retired/reserved list on or before June 1. Via Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times:
Spreading the cap hit out over two years would have given the team a little more salary cap flexibility for this season, and at the NFL league meetings in March Schneider had said that was an option the team was considering.
