Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll will lose a veteran member of his coaching staff after longtime wide receivers coach Kippy Brown decided to hang up his whistle.
According to a Wednesday report from Pro Football Talk’s Curtis Crabtree, the 60-year-old Brown is retiring after 21 years in the NFL. Offensive quality control/assistant quarterbacks coach Dave Canales is expected to take over Brown’s duties, according to Crabtree.
Seattle was Brown’s seventh NFL stop after he coached running backs for the New York Jets (1990-92), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1995), Miami Dolphins (1996-97) and Green Bay Packers (2000), before transitioning to wide receivers with the Houston Texans (2002-05) and Detroit Lions (2006-07).
