To borrow a phrase from Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, it appears the 2016 season won't be the "last rodeo" for Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll.
According to a Friday tweet from NFL Media's Ian Rapoport, the team is working on a contract extension for the 64-year-old Carroll, who is entering the final year of a two-year extension he signed with Seattle in 2014.
Rapoport also reported that Carroll's last deal put him among the NFL's top-paid head coaches, a trend that should continue with any new extension.
Carroll, now the oldest head coach in the NFL, downplayed his contract situation when asked about it at this week's NFL scouting combine in Indianapolis.
