On Monday, the Seahawks’ roster exemption for Josh Gordon ended, meaning he began to count toward Seattle’s 53-man roster. As a result, the team had to waive a player to make room on the active roster. That player was fellow wide receiver Penny Hart, who was waived by the Seahawks on Monday.
Though Seattle already has three wide receivers on their practice squad, in John Ursua, Aaron Fuller, and Cody Thompson, they would likely be interested in signing Hart to their practice squad if he makes it through waivers unclaimed.
In 11 games with the Seahawks this season, Hart has caught one pass for three yards, adding a 19-yard rush on an end around against the Jets.
