The Seattle Seahawks made a huge decision on Friday night that will see a departure in the secondary.
They waived Thomas.
The former Cleveland Browns cornerback, chosen in the sixth-round of the 2018 NFL Draft, was claimed off waivers by the Seahawks last Sunday, one day after the cut-down from 90 to 53 players.
This leaves the Seahawks with 52 players on the active roster. Seattle has one open spot, which paves the way for Earl Thomas to be activated in time for the team’s regular season opener against the Denver Broncos.
NFL rules state that the Seahawks must active ETIII by 1 PM PT on Saturday in order for him to be eligible to play on Sunday.
