The Seahawks on Thursday waived quarterback Phillip Sims, a free agent the team signed in January and who was one of just two quarterbacks on the roster.
The other, of course, is Russell Wilson, so quarterback can hardly be regarded as a position of need for the Seahawks.
But that Seattle has just one quarterback on the roster means the Seahawks will undoubtedly be adding some at that spot over the next few weeks, either via the draft or undrafted free agents, or maybe simply just other veteran free agents.
Tarvaris Jackson, the team’s backup the last three years, remains unsigned.
