RENTON -- The Seahawks made a flurry of roster moves on Saturday after a rash of injuries hit the team through the first week of training camp.
Seattle waived/injured three tight ends -- Cooper Helfet, Brandon Cottom and Ronnie Shields -- along with running back/fullback Tre Madden and defensive end David Perkins.
To replace them on the 90-man roster, the Seahawks signed fullback Jonathan Amosa, linebacker Kache Palacio, running back Troymaine Pope, wide receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu and tight end Joe Sommers.
Helfet, who played in 23 regular-season games over the last two seasons after signing as an undrafted free agent in 2012, suffered a cracked bone in his foot on July 30, while Cottom and Shields suffered Achilles' injuries on Tuesday.
