RENTON — For the second time in two days the Seahawks traded up in the NFL draft to take a defensive tackle.
On Saturday, the Seahawks made a move with the New England Patriots to select defensive tackle Quinton Jefferson of Maryland.
A 6-foot-4, 291-pounder, Jefferson is considered a tackle who can also play end. He adds depth to a line that lost nose tackle Brandon Mebane in free agency.
The Seahawks got Jefferson after trading a 2017 fourth-round pick and their pick in this year’s seventh round (No. 225) to New England. They also received No 243 in the seventh round this year from New England.
