RENTON -- When the Seahawks take the field against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, there's a better chance than not they will do so without free safety Earl Thomas for the first time in 2,520 days.
The last time Thomas didn't start for Seattle was a 17-13 Week 17 loss to the Tennessee Titans on January 3, 2010. His 106 consecutive starts is a Seahawks record for a defender, behind only former offensive lineman Chris Gray's 121 in franchise history. That streak seems likely to end on Sunday after Thomas, 27, suffered a first-degree hamstring strain in last week's 26-15 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
