With the Seattle Seahawks set to take on the Atlanta Falcons Sunday during Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season, many fans are set to get one of the changes they have wanted to see for some time granted. Specifically, for unspecified personal reasons and for an indefinite amount of time, the Seahawks will have a new special teams coordinator.
Pete Carroll said special teams Brian Schneider has left the team indefinitely for personal reasons. Larry Izzo will take over special teams duties.

The special teams units for Seattle have performed relatively poorly in recent seasons, and hopes for a change had been dashed each offseason when head coach Pete Carroll consistently stood by Schneider.
