Seahawks sign T.Y. McGill; Tory Slater reverts to injured reserve

The Seahawks have signed T.Y. McGill, a defensive tackle out of N.C. State that tried out for the team at their three-day rookie minicamp. McGill replaces defensive end Tory Slater, who passed through waivers and reverts to Seattle's injured reserve (John Schneider and Pete Carroll high-five).

T.Y. McGill is a solid athlete, as Zach Whitman and Davis Hsu point out -- 6'0, 299 pounds, 4.96 forty, 25 bench press, 29" vertical, 8-11 broad jump, and a 3-cone at 7.00 flat. That 3-cone time is the best in Whitman's database among 179 interior defensive linemen. He's short, but has good length with 33 3/4" arms.
