The Seahawks waived quarterback Jake Waters today, and signed undrafted rookie free agent receiver Deontay Greenberry.
Greenberry is a former five-star receiver recruit that chose Houston over a few other powerhouses such as USC and Notre Dame. He caught 82 balls for 1,202 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2013 but regressed in 2014, finishing with a final stat-line of 72 receptions for 841 yards and six touchdowns. He, like another recent former five-star signee George Farmer, originally caught on with the Cowboys after the draft but was released. Interestingly, Greenberry and Farmer join Kasen Williams on the Seahawks roster as former five-star recruits that struggled in the college ranks due to a number of reasons.
