The Seahawks have signed tight end Anthony McCoy and rookie safety Akeem Davis to their active roster. Seattle released Chase Coffman earlier this week so McCoy replaces him on the roster, and Davis fills Cary Williams' spot on the 53.
McCoy was drafted by the Seahawks in 2010 and become a fixture as the second tight end in the offense over the next three seasons, but then missed all of 2013 and 2014 after tearing both achilles tendons in successive training camps each year. McCoy caught on with Scot McCloughan's team in Washington this year after coming back from his second achilles injury, but was recently released without seeing a pass come his way.
