Seahawks’ Russell Wilson selected as No. 1 overall pick in Pro Bowl draft by Michael Irvin

It doesn’t feel like that long ago when Russell Wilson was an afterthought. In April 2012, the 5-foot-11 quarterback out of Wisconsin saw 74 players selected in the NFL draft before getting a call from the Seahawks.

When breaking into the NFL, a Pro Bowl bid seemed like a reach. Wilson was a Pro Bowl selection his first two seasons and has since appeared in two Super Bowls, winning one.

Wilson earned more respect Wednesday was he selected first overall during the Pro Bowl draft in Hawaii. Hall of Famer Michael Irvin picked Wilson for his team.
