Seahawks' Richard Sherman: Trump 'opposite of an example'

Parents need to counter the influence president-elect Donald Trump's rhetoric will have on children, according to Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

In an essay on The Players' Tribune titled "We All Need to Do Better," Sherman wrote at length about the example his parents -- his mother a child services worker for the state of California and his father a garbage truck driver -- set for him growing up in Compton, teaching him about respecting all people and the benefits of a strong work ethic.

Sherman then brought the piece around to the recent election of Trump.
