The longest-tenured Seahawk is now an ex-Seahawk.
Jon Ryan, an expected move that he announced on Twitter on Monday.
The NFL Network reported that Ryan requested his release. He had played for the Seahawks since 2008.
The move allows Ryan to look for his next team, and it makes official what had been expected since the Seahawks traded up in the fifth round in April's draft to select Michael Dickson from Texas.
"It's been an absolute honor and privilege to play in this great city of Seattle for the past 10 years," Ryan wrote in his tweet.
