The Seahawks opened up a spot on their 90-man roster by waiving long snapper Nolan Frese on Wednesday.
An undrafted rookie out of Houston in 2016, Frese played in all 16 regular season games after signing with Seattle during the offseason. He was placed on injured reserve after suffered a sprained ankle in the Seahawks' regular-season finale and was replaced by Tyler Ott, who spent time with the New England Patriots, St. Louis Rams, New York Giants and Cincinnati Bengals after entering the league as an undrafted rookie out of Harvard in 2015.
The pair had been competing for the special teams job.
