RENTON -- The Seattle Seahawks released offensive lineman Kristjan Sokoli, according to a tweet from his agent.
Agent Brett Tessler tweeted Monday that Seattle parted ways with Sokoli as part of the team's first roster cuts of the 2016 season. The college defensive tackle converted to the offensive line after he was selected in the sixth round of the 2015 draft.
While the 6-foot-5, 300-pound Sokoli possessed elite athleticism for a player his size, he struggled with the change of positions. Seahawks offensive line/assistant head coach Tom Cable initially tried him at center during his rookie offseason before moving him to guard.
