Training camp and preseason star Jazz Ferguson is no longer on the Seattle Seahawks practice squad.
The team announced on Wednesday that the big-bodied wide receiver has been released from the 10-man roster, with former San Francisco 49ers safety Adrian Colbert taking his spot. There was an ominous sign that Ferguson’s status on the team when he tweeted this on Tuesday.
Ferguson received a lot of attention as having the potential to be the latest UDFA “hidden gem” to make the 53-man roster. He impressed in his preseason debut by catching a touchdown pass from Paxton Lynch, and in the preseason finale against the Oakland Raiders he hauled in a long ball over veteran cornerback Nevin Lawson.
