When the San Francisco 49ers beat the Seattle Seahawks in Week 6, they assumed top spot in the NFC West on a head-to-head tiebreaker. The 49ers righted their ship, while the Seahawks were taking on water. Fast forward to Week 7, and the Seahawks are back in first place.
Seattle’s 34-14 win over the Atlanta Falcons was badly needed given the three-game losing streak and the need to not lose tiebreakers to NFC playoff hopefuls. It was an impressive victory on the road against a team favored to win the NFC South.
