Ricardo Lockette, a receiver and special teams standout for the Seahawks since 2013, officially announced his retirement Thursday during a press conference at the team’s training complex in Renton.
“It’s not a sad day for me,” Lockette said. “Life goes on.”
Lockette suffered a life-threatening neck injury in a game at Dallas on Nov. 1 when he was struck by Jeff Heath while covering a punt late in the first half of an eventual 13-12 Seahawks win.
