The Seattle Seahawks needed cornerback help. After cutting Richard Sherman and Jeremy Lane and losing DeShawn Shead to free agency, Seattle entered 2018 with little depth. That issue got some help on Friday, though, when Seattle re-signed Byron Maxwell.
Maxwell was pretty good when he returned to the Seahawks after Sherman’s injury in 2017. In fact, Seattle was nearly as good at pass defense with Maxwell as they were with Sherman. It also helped that Justin Coleman was very good all year. And that Shaquill Griffin was more than solid as a rookie.
Maxwell was re-signed to a one-year deal that could be worth $3 million if Maxwell meets incentives.
