Chris Hansen landed himself a quarterback.
The hedge-fund manager and vanguard of the effort to build a NBA arena in Sodo added a new partner to his investment group in Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who announced his involvement on Twitter Monday.
Last month, Hansen, who has been working on an arena plan since 2011, offered to privately fund the entire $490 million project as long as the City Council reverses a May 2016 decision that blocked a vacation of one-block portion of Occidental Street south of Safeco Field. The new proposal would free the city and county from a $200 million bond obligation negotiated in a Memorandum of Understanding in 2012.
