Seahawks promote Nick Moody, sign Crezdon Butler

The Seahawks have promoted linebacker Nick Moody from the practice squad to the 53-man roster, and have made the Crezdon Butler signing official.

Moody fills a role as depth behind Bobby Wagner, who injured his pectoral muscle in Sunday's game. Wagner's status for this week's matchup with the Panthers is a question mark, and Pete Carroll indicated today that while Wagner feels better than he did on Sunday, he'll be day-to-day and will likely be a game-time decision.

Either way, Moody likely figures to play some special teams at least.

When the Niners drafted Moody in the sixth round out of Florida State in 2013, Jim Harbaugh told reporters that he's "one of the best we've seen [in special teams] in college football.
