Former Western Michigan cornerback Sam Beal, the most highly touted member of a four man 2018 NFL Supplemental Draft class, worked out on Thursday in front of NFL scouts and team personnel. Representatives from all 32 teams were present, per The Browns Wire and The Lions Wire managing editor Jeff Risdon.
After being ruled academically ineligible for the 2018 season — what would’ve been his senior year — Beal joined Adonis Alexander and Brandon Bryant as prospects available in next month’s Supplemental Draft. Viewed as NFL-ready prospect after registering two interceptions and 10 pass breakups in 2017, Beal chose to stay in school for a final year and was expected to be a high draft pick in next year’s NFL Draft.
