In a surprise announcement, Tedric Thompson’s season appears to be over.
The third-year Seattle Seahawks safety and (essentially) second-year starter has been placed on injured reserve with what the team announced as a shoulder injury. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport says that Thompson will undergo surgery on a torn labrum, which is news to everyone considering he played every snap against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
In theory, the Seahawks could bring him back from IR for the playoffs (if Seattle makes it), as they can still activate one person from injured reserve back to the active roster.
