The biggest name on that list of Seattle Seahawks restricted free agents was offensive tackle George Fant, and he was given a second-round tender by the team before the 1 PM PT deadline on Wednesday.
Fant joined the Seahawks in 2016 as an undrafted free agent and with zero experience playing as an offensive lineman. He unexpectedly became Seattle’s starting left tackle later that season, and was projected to be the starter in 2017 before an ACL tear in preseason. Last season, Fant was often used as an extra offensive lineman and of course as a tackle-eligible receiver, a call-back to his days as a basketball player and TE at Western Kentucky.
