Talented but oft-injured Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise is out again this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers due to, you guessed it, an injury. As it turns out, we won’t be seeing him for the rest of the season.
The Seahawks confirmed on Saturday that Prosise has been placed on injured reserve, and they’ve since promoted LB Emmanuel Ellerbee to the active roster. Ellerbee provides both linebacker depth and special teams depth, especially in Tre Madden’s likely absence for Sunday.
According to Pete Carroll, Prosise had “an abdomen, groin, hip-flexor thing going on” that had been bothering him, and things weren’t improving, so they’ve decided to shut his season down once again.
